Choreganize Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-JUNE-13
Choreganize ("the app") is a chore-organizing app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: the app is built so that your data stays in your own iCloud account and on your devices, and the developer does not collect it or run any server that receives it.
The data the app works with
The app stores the content you create (chores, areas, completion history, locked days, and household details) in two places:
- On your device, using Apple's Core Data framework.
- In your iCloud account, using Apple's CloudKit (via
NSPersistentCloudKitContainer), so your data syncs across your own devices.
The app does not ask for your name, email, location, or contacts, and it contains no advertising, analytics, or tracking.
What the developer can and can't access
The app does not send your content to any server operated by the developer. There is no such server. Your data is stored in your own iCloud account and on your devices, and is handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy and iCloud terms. The developer does not have access to the contents of your private iCloud data and does not receive your chores or related information.
Apple may make aggregate, non-identifying information about app usage available to the developer (for example, CloudKit storage and sync metrics). This does not include the contents of your data. The developer does not sell your information or share it for advertising.
Household sharing
If you choose to share a Household, the app uses Apple's CloudKit sharing. When you invite someone, Apple's sharing system exchanges the limited information needed to set up and manage the share, for example the contact you use to invite a participant (such as an email address or phone number) and basic iCloud identity information for the people in the share. This information is handled by Apple as part of iCloud sharing; it is not collected by or sent to the developer. People you add to a Household can see and edit the chores in that shared Household.
You can stop sharing, or remove yourself from a shared Household, from within the app or your device's sharing settings.
Home-screen widget
If you add the Choreganize widget, it shows a summary of the current scope's chores for today. That summary is stored only on your device, in an app-group container shared between the app and the widget so the widget can display it. It is not collected by or sent to the developer.
Diagnostics
The app keeps a small, temporary log on your device to help with troubleshooting, which you can view in the app. These logs stay on your device unless you choose to share them (for example, when sending feedback). The app does not automatically transmit logs or diagnostics to the developer.
Notifications
The app uses Apple's push notification service to keep shared data up to date; that delivery is handled by Apple.
You can also turn on local reminders for chores that still need attention. These are scheduled and shown on your device based on the days and time you choose, and which chores remain is computed on your device. Reminder settings and content are not collected by or sent to the developer.
Your control over your data
- You can add, edit, and delete your chores and related data at any time in the app.
- Deleting the app removes its data from your device. You can remove the app's iCloud data through your device's iCloud/storage settings.
- Because the data syncs through your iCloud account, the retention and deletion of that synced data are ultimately governed by Apple and your device/iCloud settings.
Siri & Shortcuts
The app offers Siri and Shortcuts actions to read the chores you have today and to mark a chore as done. When you use them, your spoken or tapped request is processed by Apple's Siri/Shortcuts and the action runs on your device against your own chore data. The developer does not receive your requests or your chores. Chore names may be provided to the system so Siri can suggest these shortcuts; that is handled by Apple.
Children
The app is general-audience and does not knowingly request or collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change, this policy will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change.
